U12 Champions

Congratulations to the U12 Storm boys on their fantastic achievements during the spring season! It's great to hear about their success in the Roots League U12 D3 semifinal and final games.

In the semifinal against Frontier, the Storm boys faced a tough challenge. Despite Frontier's strong performance, Storm's Gavin McLoughlin scored the first goal of the match with a well-placed shot. However, Frontier quickly equalized with a goal of their own. Luke Lynch of the Storm managed to capitalize on a loose ball in the goalmouth to regain the lead for his team. Before the first half ended, Frontier scored again, resulting in a 2-2 tie.

In the second half, Frontier took the lead with another goal from a long ball to their striker. However, Storm's midfielder Spencer Jones responded with a powerful shot from just outside the box, leveling the score once more at 3-3. With only five minutes remaining, Storm's Striker Owen Elliot slipped through Frontier's defense to give Storm the lead. Unfortunately, a handball by a Storm defender awarded Frontier a penalty kick, which they successfully converted to make it 4-4. In the dying moments of the game, Storm was awarded a corner kick, and Julio Rojas-Gannon-Parada's well-placed kick found Spencer Jones, who confidently headed it into the net, securing a 5-4 victory for the Storm.

The following day, on Father's Day, Storm faced Enfield in the final. The game started with both teams having chances in a hard-fought opening 10 minutes. Storm's Gavin McLoughlin took a corner kick, which led to a scramble in the goal area. Owen Elliot managed to poke the ball into the net, giving Storm a 1-0 lead at halftime. In the early stages of the second half, Julio Rojas-Gannon-Parada delivered a long corner kick to the far post. Although McLoughlin initially overran it, he recovered and struck a low shot just inside the near post, extending Storm's lead to 2-0.

Enfield increased their pressure and managed to score a goal from a crossed ball to an open wing, narrowing the gap to 2-1. However, with only minutes remaining in the game, Storm was awarded a corner kick. Once again, Julio Rojas-Gannon-Parada's accurate delivery found Spencer Jones at the back post, and he confidently headed the ball into the net, securing a 3-1 victory for the Storm in the final.

Overall, the U12 Storm showcased their skills and determination throughout the spring season, culminating in a well-deserved championship. Congratulations to the players, coaching staff, and all those involved in supporting the team on their amazing achievements!
