Week 2 Game Summaries

The U8 girls games was canceled due to their opponents not showing up.

U10:
The U10 Storm played a tough match against Belchertown, a team with bigger players, but slightly less skilled. Despite being shorthanded with only 10 players, the Storm dominated possession from the beginning and took an early 1-0 lead. However, some confusion and lack of communication in the back led to a 2-2 tie at halftime.

Both teams scored early on in the second half, but then Belchertown had a four-minute span of constant pressure with several hard shots. The Storm's defense, led by Kiri and Regina, and goalkeeper Oliver managed to keep the game tied. Finally, the Storm flipped the field, and Cairo scored a goal through the goalie's legs, followed by Bridger's rush on goal where he was taken down in the box for a penalty kick, which Oliver buried, resulting in a 5-3 win.

What was impressive about the Storm's performance was that all five goals were scored by different players, highlighting their team effort. Kiri, Asha, Dean, Cairo, and Oliver all contributed to the victory, demonstrating the depth and talent of the team.

Overall, it was a well-fought and exciting match, and the U10 Storm should be proud of their performance. They showed great teamwork, resilience, and determination to secure the win.

U12:
The U12 Storm soccer team had another successful match on a cold and rainy Saturday morning, defeating the East Longmeadow Spartans with a final score of 6-2. Despite the challenging field conditions, the team compensated well and every player on the roster contributed to the win.

The Storm's solid defense and aggressive midfield support created many goal opportunities for the team's front line, resulting in three goals during the first half. However, the Spartans were able to catch the Storm off guard with a sneaky shot just inside the penalty area, which narrowly slipped past the goalkeeper, making the score 3-1 at the half.

During the second half, the Storm continued their strong performance and netted three more well-earned goals. Although the Spartans were able to sneak behind the Storm's defense with a 2-on-0 breakaway that found the net, it was not enough to overcome the Storm's lead, resulting in the final score of 6-2.

With 15 of their 18 rostered players on hand, the U12 Storm soccer team demonstrated their depth and ability to work together as a team. The victory is yet another testament to the team's hard work and dedication, and they are sure to continue making waves in the league as the season progresses.

U14-Boys

The U14B Storm soccer team faced a tough challenge in their recent game against Cold Spring, a worthy opponent in Division 1. Despite being unbeaten last season, the Storm found it difficult to handle Cold Spring's strong pressure, good ball circulation, and physical play. The first half was tied at 2-2, but going into the second half, the Storm started to tire, and Cold Spring took advantage by scoring five unanswered goals. The final score was 7-2 in favor of Cold Spring.

Although the Storm put up a gallant effort, they struggled to stifle or clear balls in their defensive third, which proved costly in the end. Playing up in Division 1 this season, the Storm is facing tougher competition, and this loss serves as a reminder that they will need to step up their game to succeed in this division.

Despite the loss, the Storm can take pride in their performance and resilience. They held their own against a formidable opponent and showed their fighting spirit throughout the game. With a full roster, the outcome may have been different, but this experience will only make them stronger and better prepared for future games. GOOOOO Storm!

U14-Girls
The U14 girls lost 1-2 in a tough game against Easthampton. The team showed resilience and grit in a hard fought game. Go Storm
