Fall Soccer Preparedness

Dear Soccer Enthusiasts,

As you are well aware, COVID-19 has caused a lot of changes to life as we know it. As states, cities, and towns continue to work on getting people back to some form of normalcy, youth soccer is doing its part to make sure kids can play safely. The Roots Soccer League in which Brattleboro Storm participates has come up with a document (see attached) based on the state of Massachusetts and MASS Youth Soccer guidelines. Of particular interest is the wearing of masks at all times with limited exception, and the elimination of throw-ins and heading for all age groups. The new guidelines are in-line with those of Vermont Soccer Association as well.

We hope that these guidelines will provide you with enough information and assurances to ease the anxiety of participating in fall soccer. The league, in conjunction with field administrations in league towns, will put in place the necessary enforcement mechanisms to make sure that the guidelines are followed.  Compliance is essential.  Any deviation from the rules by a single team, be it in this league or another league, can result in the season being canceled for all leagues.

The league has extended the team registration time to August 27th so clubs can get the message out and firm-up their rosters.

We hope that these guidelines give you assurance that your child can safely play soccer this fall.  If you want your child to play with Storm this fall, it is important that you register now so that we can determine the level of interest and register with the Roots League.
